UPS is currently seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to maintain the General Ledger for Customs Brokerage as well as exception processing for International freight transactions. The ideal candidate must be a subject matter expert in all areas of financial analysis and accounting procedures.This position is responsible for preparing, auditing and entering journal entries, as well as reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.  He/She will also be responsible for preparing and receiving electronic charge memos (Centras), as well as internal customer support, including research of account balances and variance analysis.  The Senior Accounting Associate conducts shipment level research to determine the correct settlement for UPS International freight transactions for revenue recognition and/or accounts receivable adjustments, and ensures compliance with Enterprise Wide Accounting Policies and Procedures (EWAPPM). Preferred Skills Some training/experience in accounting, finance or business Knowledge of accounting, including use of concepts and principles Good working knowledge of computerized spreadsheets and databasesGood communicative, organizational, planning, analytic and problem-solving skills are preferredAccuracy and attention to detailProficiency with various software packages including Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and WindowsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Four year undergraduate business degree obtained or working toward a four-year business degree in the area of Finance,Accounting or related field is preferredExcellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills preferredGood working knowledge of accounting processes and principles preferredIntermediate knowledge level of Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferredUPS is an equal opportunity employer – race/color/religion/sex/national origin/veteran/disability/sexual orientation/gender identity
