Overview

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will support the EOUSA (Executive Office for United States Attorneys) Telecommunications and Technology Development Staff (TTD) in ensuring the implementation of systems-level security controls and to maintain and to write system documentation. The responsibilities of the ISSO will be as follows: • Assist in the development and maintenance of system security plans and contingency plans for all systems under their responsibility. • Assist in the determination of an appropriate level of security commensurate with the impact level • Conduct risk assessments to periodically re-evaluate sensitivity of the system, risks, and mitigation strategies. • Participate in self-assessment of system safeguards and program elements and in certification and accreditation of the system; The ideal candidate will also have a clear understanding of Data Center technologies and operations with the ability to supervise the current operations, transition operations, and ultimately the final completion of equipment & services transfer in support of the organization’s Data Center Transformation Initiative (DCTI). The bulleted listed below are elements of an individual whom may successfully manage a Data Center move: • Project management – the transition manager must have some level of project / data center team management to address the base requirements along with the timeline. PMP is a nice to have, but not required. The task is more technical than straight management (Evaluate, Plan, direct, and manage the transition activities)• Data Center Management – small to large experience commemorates in the ability to address clear lines of demarcation. Power, space and cooling; addressing the way forward of concurrent operations and the ability to upgrade, reduce footprints and ultimately reduce cost in the transfer is ideal. The individual who can work through the base elements while addressing technology upgrades for increased efficiencies and utilization.• Diverse understanding of technology capabilities. Aspects would include systems administration of multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Data Base Systems, Hypervisors (VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V)), systems development – (development, test, production – DevOps) – similarity to the requirements of discovery of current systems and all the hidden operations/services, ability to construct hot/warm/cold transition with test and ultimately production certification of transitioned equipment and services Must be able to obtain Public Trust
